What’s New?

August 5th to August 11th

Hello reader, we hope you’re staying safe and cool. Here in California where I am writing, it is very hot. I hate it! Anyway, this week I debated if I should go to a monthly or biweekly schedule for these newsletters, but I think I’ll keep them at a weekly clip for now. Even though, nothing much is happening at RABBLE REVIEW. We’re working on the issue and I’m sweating (from the heat.) I do want to get a new blog post up on the site soon, probably around the time we decide on a cover.

Speaking of cover art, it’s hard to choose. We have to choose something that will look good as a cover, obviously, but also displays the text we have on the cover well. We don’t want any element to compete with each other or draw focus away. Also it needs to fit the aspect ratio and yada yada yada. We received a submission that is very close to being our choice, but even still, there’s a lot of little modifications that need to happen to get it to work. Personally, I think the piece benefits more on the page, even though it would make for a sick cover. Either way, I can’t wait for you to see the art piece and for you to read RABBLE REVIEW No.9. We’re on track to have it out by the end of the summer. We’ll have more to share soon.

Work of the Week:

Surrender,” by Gloria Cruz

This weeks featured work is a short story! Surrender by Gloria Cruz was featured in Issue No.4 on page 94.

It’s not a particularly long piece, it’s short and punchy. Be sure to read it either on our website or in the issue itself! It’s worth the read.
