What’s New?

August 26th to September 8th

Hello reader, welcome back. Sorry for the extended hiatus. We’re switching over from a weekly update to bi-weekly, and we’ve been hard at work on the new issue. The switch is mostly due to the fact that we have weeks that are lighter than others, so weekly updates felt a bit unnecessary. The Work of the Week will still be updated weekly though, and we will share the work featured in the off week along with the selected work of the week for the current week.

Anyways, we have big news to share! RABBLE REVIEW No.9 will launch on October 10th! We’re excited for you to finally be able to read the issue. There’s still a ton of work to be finished, but we appreciate your patience. I made a short announcement trailer containing the names of all the contributors. You can find out more below.

RABBLE REVIEW No.9 is coming out on October 10th, 2025. We are also planning to have a livestream book launch on the same day. It will feature behind the scenes insights into the new issue, discussion, and recordings from some of our contributors reading the work of theirs that was published in the issue. We will have more to share as we approach the day, so be sure to stay tuned to our socials, and website. And if you’re still not subscribed to our newsletter, please consider doing so!

Recommendations from our editors:

This week we’re introducing a new segment where RABBLE REVIEW editors will share something they’re currently reading, watching, or listening to.

Andrew Adjei-Managing Editor:

Right now I’m rereading Dawn by Octavia Butler. I first read it in like, 2014 or 2015? It was awhile ago, but I never finished the trilogy so I’m reading Book 1 again to refamiliarize myself.

As for what I’m watching, I’m enjoying Season 3 of Foundation, which is on AppleTV+. I don’t know anyone else who watches it, but I think it has been fantastic so far. I’m also watching Alien Earth on Hulu, and it’s a bit slow but I’m intrigued!

Jeremy Hurdis- Production Manager:

I'm reading Phil K Dick's A Scanner Darkly, which never ceases to be timely in an period of worsening drug problems alongside ever bloating police budgets. I recommend it. And yes, the rotoscoped film is fun too.

I also just finished Silo, which was great. Rebecca Fergusson is fantastic, and the society in that silo is compelling. Season 2 is a little slow going, but I'm looking forward to more
